The story behind the story…
September 2022: I decided I was done building vans. I’d run out of inspiration, motivation, and felt like it was dead end for me. I wanted to channel my passion into something more scalable, far-reaching—a project that had the ability to change the lives of thousands of people, not just one.
At the same time, the niche felt like too special of an opportunity to walk away from.
Flipping vans allowed me to live a life free from financial constraint, travel wherever I want, meet some of the most important people in my life, and recognize a never ending abundance of ideas.
I had also learned so much technical knowledge through building, had a worthwhile business perspective on the craft, and an interesting story to tell.
So much that I joked I could write a book. And then it hit me—I literally can write a book.
Once I realized that, I felt glued to the idea. So, after about eight months of brainstorming, outlining, writing, and refining, I think I left it all on paper—as much as I could anyways.
Everyone always asks me what I do for “work,” how I afford to live the way I do, and how they can do it. This book gives the answer.
I wrote this as a form of self expression, to capture my story, and inspire others to take risks.
And funny enough, after reading this book ten times over, my excitement for building was reinvigorated….and lead to the creation of my yellow van.
